Summary/Objective
The Operations Specialist will work closely with the Branch Manager, Distribution Manager, and the Purchasing Department to ensure that defective and returned product is processed efficiently. This includes adhering to established procedures and contributing to maintaining customer satisfaction and vendor relationships.
- Read and understand customer sales orders, work orders, purchase orders, debit memos, packing slips, bill of ladings, return authorizations, credit memos, and other shipping documents.
- Inventory maintenance:
- Maintain an understanding of the product that has been received at the Distribution Center.
- Confirm the accuracy of lost/gained inventory daily by counting product in the warehouse.
- Search for lost product and adjusting inventory counts as needed.
- Obtain credit for defective products that are returned to vendors for inspection.
- Prepare proper documentation for freight claims.
- Timely and accurate vendor follow up on shipping errors.
- Assist in the completion of cycle counts and variance reports.
- Complete UPS returns for the Kohler Signature Stores.
- Answer the distribution center phone; forward calls to the proper extension.
- Prepare parcels for mailing.
- Wear proper safety equipment for tasks in the warehouse.
- Maintain organization in the warehouse and work area.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Warehouse Management System (WMS) knowledge
- One year of prior warehouse experience (Preferred, not required)
